What is REAL Talent and What Should I do with Mine?

First off we can’t work out what to do with our talents, until we fist understand they are God’s – and not ours, really know what talent is (and it’s not just singing tunes into a microphone, or making a million bucks from royalties without doing any work). Hopefully you won’t do with your talent what the likes of people like many of todays ‘stars’ do with theirs, that’s if you want to call it.

What’s real talent?

The word talent comes from an old description of money – so as you have heard – some people have a God-given talent and this is literally true, except a talent from God is a real form of currency and investment and one that could (if you will use it wisely) last forever and benefit all mankind – not the silly money that men think it’s clever to invest in others in order to gain a quick buck without working – there is NOTHING clever about not working for your money in fact, the opposite is true but that’s another article – no – God’s talent has real value and can have real rewards and benefits for all – not just the money-hungry investor. The question is?… what are YOU going to do with your talent, what God invested in you, and how are you going to use it and – who are you going to use it for? Are you going to emulate Madonna young people?

Don’t sell your soul by selling your God-given talent

Once you have found out what your gifts really are – ones that are useful to others and God’s people, use them with all your might for the kingdom of everlasting peace and happiness. Don’t get Hillsonged into thinking that rock concerts are ‘talent’, or that an idea of the size and importance of one’s talent is directly proportional to the size of the stadium one can fill. Remember – Jesus Christ – the one we are to emulate was NO respecter or persons. This does not mean He was lawless and had no respect – it means he didn’t have the kind or ‘rapper-respect’ we see – you know the respect you have for someone just because hey can afford a lot of bling and fast wheels and they have ten tunes (if you can call them that) in the charts… no that wasn’t Jesus our Lord.
