Calling & Gifting

Many Christians would love to know exactly what their calling is, or confused about exactly what their gifting is. well first off – as a Christian, our gifting is primarily that we have been given eyes to recognise that god exists, and that he has given us the amazing free gift of live, providing we recognise our sins. Second – our primary calling is to share the gospel, and bring others who are searching to this saving knowledge and light. So really that’s it! However – obviously, we are all given what I call more ‘worldly’ gifts for want of a better word, such as musicality, academic skills and many others, and yes, these are important and God-given too. Also – perhaps we should not call our gifts ‘ours’ – but God’s – then we are more likely to use them wisely and not waste them on self-aggrandisement.

Accordingly Christians should seek to find ways to use these gifts, whilst always making sure we are not setting ourselves up as idols – as I can tell you now becoming famous, becoming worshipped – even by Christians will end badly with a great fall. In other words – always seek to check your ego and the motives you are doing something. It’s a problem all humans suffer from and Christians are not immune.
