Can I Add New Random Folders and/or Files To Logic Audio Projects and Songs Saved as a Package? YES!

I am just starting to use Logic Pro (in my case logic Pro X as that is as far as my iMac will take me using Sierra operating system – High Sierra will allow me to go up to a newer version of Logic but I can’t afford the price tags for either). Anyway – I have decided, since my project will require many – many – many songs that all link to a large and intricate set of books – each with their own soundtracks. So back to the question…

Is it actually possible to add folders to a Apple Logic music project already saved as a ‘Package’?

I asked this myself as after messing about for several hours I had no luck… until I found the answer; How do I add extra folders and resource files to a Logic audio music project that has already been saved in Package format (that groups all the song’s audio files and assets for simplicity when moving files from place t place or computer to computer).

The problem I had was when I tried to create a new folder nothing happened (I just got a message saying something like – ‘creating folder’ stuck on the screen. Then when somehow I did manage to create one – I could not add or drag files or folders to or from it – or got an error code! So what was the problem?

So How do I add new files and folders to a Logic Audio Package file?

The way to do this is to CLOSE the project! Then you will find when you right-click the logic file (saved as package) and select ‘ show package contents’ – you will indeed easily be able to add new folders and files with any assets you like.

Also – when the project is closed you will also be able to copy files and folders onto your PC by dragging them from the package (viewed as folders). That’s it!

This article is about methods and ways of adding new or random extra files and new external folders with non-Logic files and data to an existing Logic Pro Package (like images or lyric sheets or whatever).
