Looking After Old People in Today’s Hard World

In today’s society getting old is frowned upon. Old people are shoved into homes and care facilities as if it’s a good and merciful thing to do with those that slaved to bring us up, and a good place for them to live out their last days. Unfortunately this is modern western society and is not commonIn many parts of the world where they appreciate value placed on the wisdom of old age – and that can only come with old age. Remember wisdom is world apart from knowledge – you can have all of one and one and none of the other!

It’s a sad reflection on Western society to see old folksDisowned ignoredWhen the reality is they are the people we shouldn’t be listening to. Our modern technology is deceptive and gives us the impression we are invincible, but old folks know that this is not the case as they’ve lived through wars with technology that was responsible for Incredible suffering. There was more bloodshed in the last century than all other put together – when we had more technilogy than all the others put together.

Real Christians must listen and appreciate the old folks in society and hold them up is precious and valuable as they really are. They are not indispensable and should never be cast to one side. Family should always seek to look after their elderly members until they die – and not seek to find ways to get them out of the home and out of their business. We must forgive older family members that any wrong is they have done us and not use this as an excuse to put them out as many people doing today.

I am sickened by the way old peopleI talked about by governments and people – especially some in the medical community as if they are cattle – and their future needs to be decidedIn terms of euthanasiaVarious other ways getting them out of our hair. One day these folks will become old and sure they will probably opt for a quick painless end with an injection – but ultimately they will stand before God – and so should we all stand before Him.

Therefore I implore anyone who has old people in their midst to remember they too are made in the image of God – and the only difference between them and you is a thin frail skin.
