Is The Sabbath Only For the Jews?

Was the sabbath is only for the jews? This is the standard view held by most modern churches and denominations. Rather that give a ‘yes’ / ‘no’ answer, let’s look at a few references in The Bible and stories that speak to the Sabbath issue.

From The Bible

“There will be neither Jew nor Gentile in the kingdom of God!”

Facts

The emnity of the law was destroyed – not the law itself!

The finger of God wrote the 10 Commandments and God is the same yesterday and forever – the finger of Moses wrote the law of moses.

Short Story That Speaks To Keeping the Commandments

One day the lawyer of a murderer offered to pay his fine for him to get him out of jail. The judge refused bail but a murderer was let off by a judge who gave him grace, pardoning him from the death penalty so he was no longer condemned – i.e not under the condemnation of the law. However, the murder thanked the judge and enquired of him;

“am I now free to kill my inmates should they became rowdy or if he wish to do so for any reason?”

The judge replied;

“No… you have been pardoned this once from your sin and you are no longer condemmed by the law for your sin but you are still under the law and are not free to kill. And you would not be free to do so, and still under the law if I pardon you a 100 times!”
