Are you new to the area trying to find
a church?.... need a change or looking for a church with a particular
focus, a particular Christian denomination or type of service,

There are many denomination - here's a
list of different
church denominations and most Christian churches are
striving to work together - that is - to avoid saying that one
denomination is more scripturally based than another but rather
- church denomintations - even churches themselves are rather
like individulals - they all have their own personalities and
each will probably suit some personlaities better than others.
The basic teaching of these churches is the same.
Some people may be used to the rigorous
teaching and strict practices of the Catholic Church (though even
this has become seriously modified in the last few decades to
be more inclusive of other denominations and even taking on evangelical
forms too!) whilst some may find this more outwardly shown zeal
a bit off-putting, especially new Christian converts that have
come from a more worldly social life and background.
Before they completely grasp what God has
done for them it may be better for yonger new converts to start
off in their journey of faith in a Church that in terms of worship
is geared towards the young or one that isn't scared to embrace
a few slightly more worldly ways in order to get the kids into
church and on the right track - try Hillsong
Church if that's you:) I'm not sure I would emrace
all of those things myself (I'm really talking about the Christian
rock style worship music which the kids love and perhaps the fact
that you probably won't hear many of the harder to swallow Christian
teachings though it has to be said - they are great at the self
improvement stuff if you need some of that - you'll come out of
the service feeling great). But, I don't want to be negative about
the work other minitries are doing - as with any church.. just
check them out - ask a few questions - find out who's accountable
to who and so on - the normal stuff. Make sure they're teaching
you not just the good bits that make you feel good but the underlying
and sometimes harder to handle things that the God asks of us.
