- what the Bible says on being saved
Luke
14:16-24
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth
sinners, and eateth with them.
Luke
15:2
A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to [his]
father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth [to
me]. And he divided unto them [his] living. And not many days
after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey
into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous
living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine
in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined
himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his
fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly
with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants
of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with
hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him,
Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am
no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired
servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was
yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and
ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto
him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and
am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to
his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put [it] on him;
and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on [his] feet: And bring
hither the fatted calf, and kill [it]; and let us eat, and be
merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost,
and is found. And they began to be merry.
Luke
15:4-32
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was
lost.
Luke
19:10
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in
his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
John
1:7
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so
must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
John
3:14-17
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall
never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in
him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John
4:14
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation
is of the Jews.
John
5:40
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh
to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never
thirst.
John
6:35
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh
to me I will in no wise cast out.
John
6:37
In the last day, that great [day] of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water.
John
7:37-38
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also
I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be
one fold, [and] one shepherd.
John
10:16
And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year,
he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for
that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one
the children of God that were scattered abroad.
John
12:32
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of
itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye
abide in me. I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth
in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without
me ye can do nothing.
Acts
2:39
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts
5:20
Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as [he did] unto
us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I
could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their
peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles
granted repentance unto life.
Acts
11:17-18
Men [and] brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever
among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
Acts
13:26
Be it known unto you therefore, men [and] brethren, that through
this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by
him all that believe are justified from all things, from which
ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
Acts
13:38-39
For so hath the Lord commanded us, [saying], I have set thee to
be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation
unto the ends of the earth.
Acts
13:47
And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said
unto them, Men [and] brethren, ye know how that a good while ago
God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should
hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth
the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even
as [he did] unto us; And put no difference between us and them,
purifying their hearts by faith.
Acts
15:7-9
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
we shall be saved, even as they.
Acts
15:11
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are
the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way
of salvation.
Acts
16:17
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt
be saved, and thy house.
Acts
16:30-31
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance
toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts
20:21
Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent
unto the Gentiles, and [that] they will hear it.
Acts
28:28
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience
to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Romans
1:5
I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to
the wise, and to the unwise.
Romans
1:14
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew
first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness
of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just
shall live by faith.
Romans
1:16-17
Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the
law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Romans
2:26
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested,
being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness
of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all
them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by
his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom
God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his
blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins
that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, [I
say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and
the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Romans
3:21-26
[Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles?
Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing [it is] one God, which shall
justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through
faith.
Romans
3:29-30
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining
to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works,
he hath [whereof] to glory; but not before God. For what saith
the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him
for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned
of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth
on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans
4:1-25
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into
this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory
of God.
Romans
5:1-2
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of
this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then
with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh
the law of sin.
Romans
7:24-25
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not
after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the
righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after
the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were
by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock
of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans
9:30-33
For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every
one that believeth.
Romans
10:4
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth,
and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not
be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the
Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon
him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
be saved.
Romans
10:8-13
And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace
is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more
grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Romans
11:6
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid:
but [rather] through their fall salvation [is come] unto the Gentiles,
for to provoke them to jealousy. Now if the fall of them [be]
the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches
of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
Romans
11:11-12
And that the Gentiles might glorify God for [his] mercy; as it
is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles,
and sing unto thy name.
Romans
15:9
That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles,
ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles
might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
Romans
15:16
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1
Corinthians 1:18
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified,
but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the
Spirit of our God.
1
Corinthians 6:11
Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2
Corinthians 5:17
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech
[you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled
to God.
2
Corinthians 5:20
We then, [as] workers together [with him], beseech [you] also
that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2
Corinthians 6:1
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith
the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive
you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and
daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2
Corinthians 6:17-18
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented
of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
2
Corinthians 7:10
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this
present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Galatians
1:4
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but
by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ,
that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by
the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh
be justified.
Galatians
2:16
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen
through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, [saying],
In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Galatians
3:8
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made
a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that
hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on
the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise
of the Spirit through faith.
Galatians
3:13-14
[Is] the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for
if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily
righteousness should have been by the law.
Galatians
3:21
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For
as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free,
there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ
Jesus.
Galatians
3:26-28
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to
his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the
dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together
in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which
are on earth; [even] in him:
Ephesians
1:9-10
In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians
1:13
And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Ephesians
2:1
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the
lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of
the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he
loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together
with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Ephesians
2:3-5
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
[it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians
2:8-9
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down
the middle wall of partition [between us]; Having abolished in
his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained]
in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so]
making peace;
Ephesians
2:14-15
And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to
them that were nigh.
Ephesians
2:17
That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body,
and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Ephesians
3:6
And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery,
which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who
created all things by Jesus Christ:
Ephesians
3:9
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the
dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Ephesians
5:14
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my
presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your
own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians
2:12
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Yea doubtless, and I count all things [but] loss for the excellency
of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered
the loss of all things, and do count them [but] dung, that I may
win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness,
which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ,
the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him,
and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings,
being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might
attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Philippians
3:7-11
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard
before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto
you, as [it is] in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as
[it doth] also in you, since the day ye heard [of it], and knew
the grace of God in truth:
Colossians
1:5-6
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him
to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether
[they be] things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that
were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works,
yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death,
to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [be] not
moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, [and]
which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof
I Paul am made a minister;
Colossians
1:20-23
[Even] the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make
known what [is] the riches of the glory of this mystery among
the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Colossians
1:26-27
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision,
Barbarian, Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and
in all.
Colossians
3:11
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate
of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For
God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by
our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake
or sleep, we should live together with him.
1
Thessalonians 5:8-10
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren
beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen
you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief
of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining
of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2
Thessalonians 2:13-14
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious:
but I obtained mercy, because I did [it] ignorantly in unbelief.
1
Timothy 1:13
This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am
chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first
Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern
to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1
Timothy 1:15-16
For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge
of the truth. For [there is] one God, and one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for
all, to be testified in due time.
1
Timothy 2:3-6
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust
in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of
those that believe.
1
Timothy 4:10
Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according
to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which
was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now
made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who
hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to
light through the gospel:
2
Timothy 1:9-10
Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they
may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal
glory.
2
Timothy 2:10
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which
are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which
is in Christ Jesus.
2
Timothy 3:15
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to
all men,
Titus
2:11
For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived,
serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy,
hateful, [and] hating one another. But after that the kindness
and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works
of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy
he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the
Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ
our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made
heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Titus
3:3-7
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for
them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Hebrews
1:14
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at
the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto
us by them that heard [him];
Hebrews
2:3
For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are]
all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain
of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Hebrews
2:10
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left [us] of entering
into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For
unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the
word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith
in them that heard [it]. For we which have believed do enter into
rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter
into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation
of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh [day]
on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing
therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they
to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after
so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then
would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth
therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered
into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God
[did] from his.
Hebrews
4:1-10
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation
unto all them that obey him;
Hebrews
5:9
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come
unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for
them.
Hebrews
7:25
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and receive with meekness the
engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James
1:21
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time.
1
Peter 1:5
Receiving the end of your faith, [even] the salvation of [your]
souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched
diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto
you:
1
Peter 1:9-10
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2
Peter 3:9
And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is] salvation;
even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom
given unto him hath written unto you;
2
Peter 3:15
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, [even] eternal
life.
1
John 2:25
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that
God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live
through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he
loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.
1
John 4:9-10
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son.
1
John 5:11
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common
salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort
[you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was
once delivered unto the saints.
Jude
1:3
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and
have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched,
and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee
to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich;
and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the
shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Revelation
3:17-18
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me.
Revelation
3:20
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the
book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and
hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and
tongue, and people, and nation;
Revelation
5:9
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man
could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,
stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white
robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice,
saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and
unto the Lamb.
Revelation
7:9-10
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the
everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth,
and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Revelation
14:6
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain
of the water of life freely.

she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus:
